The next dimension in imaging and metrology


Hyperparallel OCT is a unique 3D spectral imaging technology that can measure over 1000 simultaneous A-scans over a 7.5 mm range at over 50 frames per second.

Advantages of Hyperparallel OCT include:

  • Insensitive to sample movement for clinical applications due to high data capture rates.

  • Greatly enhanced frame registration due to multiple simultaneous surface measurements

  • Dense B-scan and volumetric imaging over a very fine lateral grid

  • Lower cost implementation by using off-the-shelf optical components

Technology Backgrounder
As an initial technology demonstrator, we previewed a system for measuring the elevation and curvature of anterior and posterior corneal surfaces in the eye. Results obtained were presented in
our paper on “3D spectral imaging for anterior segment metrology” given by Trevor Anderson, our Vice President of R&D, in the session on Optical Coherence Tomography and Coherence Domain Optical Methods in Biomedicine XIX on Monday, 9th February 2015 at the BiOS/Photonics West Conference in San Francisco.
